Project Gene Smart School Outreach

Launched in 2022, the Project Gene Smart School Outreach targets secondary school students aged 10 to 18. The initiative addresses widespread ignorance, dispels stereotypes, and debunks myths surrounding sickle cell disease. By reaching students at a formative stage, the project empowers them with accurate knowledge of the genetic condition, encouraging responsible reproductive choices to prevent future generations from inheriting sickle cell disease. Ultimately, this initiative fosters healthier communities across Nigeria.
